Never neglect any sings of hatred predicting misery:
FROM PRUSSIA’S CONQUEST  OF WROCLAW AND ALL SILESIA 1741 - 1945
TO THE GERMAN DEATH CAMP AUSCHWITZ-BIRKENAU 1940 - 1945

In December 1740, only a few months after becoming King of Prussia, Friedrich II (the Great) began his invasion of Habsburg Silesia. Wroclaw’s inhabitants, a majority of whom were Protestant, did not take up arms against the forces of Protestant Prussia. In January 1741 Friedrich advanced without a struggle into the city, where he would set up his winter quarters in many of the following years. After three long wars, Empress Maria Theresa was forced to relinquish Silesia once and for all in the Treaty of Hubertusburg (1763).  The Prussian conquest marked the beginning of one of the bleakest chapters in Wroclaw’s history: The flourishing city, the largest in Silesia and one of the wealthiest in the Habsburg Monarchy, tempted Friedrich II, the “noble son of the Piasts” (he considered himself their descendant and circulated this information intentionally). Taking advantage of circumstances, he wrested Silesia from the young Maria Theresa in 1741, violating Wroclaw’s long and deftly-defended independence, and annexed it to the absolutist state of Prussia, thus securing for himself a fine source of revenue and destroying by whatever means - force, cunning, bureaucracy, corruption, taxes, forgery - all that had come together over the centuries.
Prussian leaders instituted a “robber economy” in Silesia and treated “the land and the city like a semicolonial territory, from which Prussia would draw great profits without giving anything in exchange" The result was Silesia's economic decline: As a Prussian city Wroclaw no longer played the brilliant role it had during the period of Bohemian rule, to say nothing of its grandeur in the days of the Piast court. Prussian policies, it was claimed, reduced the great metropolis on the Oder to a dreary provincial city.
It is well known that all the famous travelers who visited Wroclaw, beginning with Pope Aeneas Silvius Piccolomini [Pius II] in ca. 1460 and ending with the grandfather of Goethe in 1716, expressed the highest admiration for its beauty and cleanliness. {auf Deutsch: Im Jahre 1460 schrieb Aeneas Sylvius Piccolomini, der spätere Papst Pius II.: "Breslau, eine sehr geräumige Stadt an der Oder, mit privaten und öffentlichen Gebäuden prächtig geschmückt, sein Bistum nannten unsere Vorfahren das goldene."} But only half a century after the Prussian army annexed the Silesian capital, Goethe himself (in 1790) found only squalor and stench there, nothing else. {auf Deutsch: Im Jahre 1460 schrieb Aeneas Sylvius Piccolomini, der spätere Papst Pius II.: "Breslau, eine sehr geräumige Stadt an der Oder, mit privaten und öffentlichen Gebäuden prächtig geschmückt, sein Bistum nannten unsere Vorfahren das goldene."} Until the mid nineteenth century Goethe's judgement was shared by other German travelers, who regarded the city with indifference and even as down-right foreign. {auf Deutsch: Goethe schrieb 1790: "Nun sind wir wieder in dem lärmenden, schmutzigen Breslau, aus dem ich bald erlöst zu sein wünsche..."}

Preußen und die erste polnische Teilung 1772 Prussia and the first partition of Poland in 1772 Prusy i pierwszy rozbiór Polski 1772

The initiator of the first partition of Poland was clearly Prussia. The Prussian King Friedrich II. (1740 - 1786) had won the first Polish division 1772 Royal Prussia and was thus able to establish a land link between Pomerania and the Duchy of Prussia, which was henceforth called together with the Warmia Prussia.

"La pittura è una poesia che si vede e non si sente, e la poesia è una pittura che si sente e non si vede."
"Malarstwo jest poezją, którą się widzi a nie słyszy, poezja jest malarstwem, które się słyszy a nie widzi"
"Painting is poetry which is seen and not heard, and poetry is a painting which is heard but not seen"

'Radość miłości' papieża Franciszka, aby była dobrze zrozumiana, należy odpowiednio zilustrować i skontrastować z ciepieniem nienawiści.
Panna Ewelina, lat 20, z Brzezinki, mieszka blisko niemieckiego obozu zagłady Auschwitz - Birkenau.

'The joy of love' by pope Francis to be well understood should be properly illustrated, and contrasted with the misery of hatred.
Miss Evelina, age 20, of Brzezinka, Poland, lives in the vicinity of the German death camp Auschwitz - Birkenau.
